my newest obsession...

 

First tasted these little bits of heaven about a week into my trip. Then I bought a pack whenever I got the urge (and I got the urge a lot!).

I bought 3 boxes home with me.

They were gone in 3 days...

I need a fix b.a.d.

Trips to the theatre...

1. Cirqu du soleil's "Love" in Las Vegas

 

2. "Legally Blonde" on Broadway NYC

 

3. "Hairspray" on Broadway NYC

 

4. "Wicked" in Hollywood

I love going to the theatre and I have to admit that it does not happen as often as I would like (not through lack of wanting, just through lack of funds!!!). BUT, we were on holidays so spending lots of money is a given. So we packed in as many shows as we could.

We loved them all. I can't tell you how "enthusiastic" the audiences were on Broadway as the cheering started when the curtain went up and didn't stop. So much fun and we left the theatres singing and dancing (along with most of the crowd) and wishing we could go right back in.

So sad we couldn't get tickets for Grease LOL

Biggest disapointment...we missed this by 1 day!

 

My praire lovin heart was broken, but I managed to console myself in the theatre gift shop and left with the show poster (to frame and hang proudly somewhere in my house) postcards, magnets, pins and ...a bonnet and apron - just like Laura's. 

I know you are probably shaking your head at this point and wondering about my sanity, but my love of all things "Little House on the Praire" has been with me since I was a small child and read the books. I debated the "practicality" of buying said bonnet and finally my sister turned to me and said...buy the damn bonnet and let's get out of here.

The bonnet is safely in my wardrobe and yes, there is photographic evidence (the staff in the gift shop kindly took some photos for me LOL) but I wonder how wise it would be to post that on the world wide web. Ha!

I'm back...

What a trip! So much to process, photo's to edit, "stuff" to sort, scrapbook supplies to find a home for and getting back into my everyday routine (work).

I know I will need many posts to cover this trip so just know, for now, that it was fantastic.

I got your message mel, so here's an update from the road...

Actually this is my second attempt as my post was eaten when I tried to upload (and that only cost me $20.00 so real happy about that!!)

So how has the trip been so far?

FANTASTIC.

My mind is totally awash with places and people and things that are all vying for the title of best experience. It is going to take me forever to process all the things I have done. Of course the 700+ photos that I have so far will probably crash my computer when I try to upload and share LOL

Creative Escape was crazy and we got soooooooooooooooooo much that we had to ship a box to the hotel here in Santa Monica (as well as the box I had to ship to my online friend Suzanne - hi Suzanne, see you Wednesday - here in Los Angeles). Packing is going to be a wee bit of a problem but when Bazzill is 21 cents a sheet AUD, well you could have heard the screams all the way back home. Ha! Trouble is, that cardstock is HEAVY!

We had a wonderful time meeting Elizabeth and her family, and they just showed us a fantastic time in DC (and I got to check out her scapbooks IRL, which are so much better than in the mags!) Now get saving Dillows, we are expecting you down under as soon as possible to repay the hospitality!

OK, my time is up and I am rambling (19 hr days will do that to you LOL). I don't want this trip to end but I also miss my boys and can't wait to see them (and they are going to love the little treats that mama has hidden in her luggage)

A big catch up post and photos to come, after I attempt to unpack, and try to return to a normal life where I have to make my own meals, clean, drive and...go back to work.
