Yes, I survived!
In fact I suprised myself that I didn't really feel at any time (even on heartbreak hill) that I couldn't do it. Even ran the last 400m because we wanted to get that time (we had thought if we did it in 3 hours that that would be good).
Today I have a few sore muscles but went for my walk to stretch them out. I keep looking at my medal and smiling. Yay me LOL
My girlfriends Gail & Wendy and I set off for Sydney on Saturday (headed for my sisters house and a girly sleepover) and this car pulled in front of us...definatly a good sign.
We went for pedicures, a little retail therapy in Borders, a great Thai dinner and "Blades of Glory" in our PJ's and Magnum icecreams, because calories don't count when you are running a big race the next day!!!
My sister was in charge of taking a photo as we ran by... she obviously failed us. Ha!
...although she did manage to take a photo of the front runners. They had finished before we had even crossed the start line (70,000 + people is a lot of people!)
Here we are at a toilet stop - there was no way with all those nerves and water that we could make it through without one pit stop (which took 4 mins LOL).
I was in bed at 9.30pm and asleep at 9.31pm.
We plan to make it an annual event.
No scrapbooking was completed this weekend!
And it's 11 days till I fly out to America!!!!!!!!
