the midnight scrapper

the bunny pays us a visit...

Firstly, it didn't rain!! We woke up to the sun trying to peek out from the clouds (and it did) so we got to hunt around the property and not just under the verandah.

Secondly, this photo does not quite capture the "zeal" that was the actual hunting when you bring 4 boys together LOL. Think rollerball and you will be pretty close. Ha! I should be happy that they will still do the hunt...they have younger cousins so I sort of "make" them keep doing it; if turning egg hunting into a contact sport gets them out there...well that works for me.

It was chocolate for breakfast, of course, and then Easter lunch with the family. The sun shone all day, the kids each have their body weight in chocolate and the seafood buffet was for nice indeed.

And finally, some  treats that we worked on - Easter gingerbread, cupcakes & goodie bags.

   

I am so back on my diet tomorrow!

bunnies, painted eggs and I don't give a damn about this easter bonnet...

Finished the egg painting and was able to decorate the side board in the loungeroom. I chose very earthy colours for my eggs this year so that they would blend in with the giant canvas that hangs on the wall behind the sideboard and dominates everything I display!

 

The "eggs" are super cheap styrofoam ones from the cheapie shop (all these eggs cost about $6.00) and then I just painted them with colours from my MM paints stash and a final coat of mod podge. Super easy. My bunny was my $5.00 bargain from Borders and he is lovely and soft and looks like a real bunny...I am so not into the super cute bunnies that I see in all the shops, but this one spoke to me LOL.

And finally, my one and only shot at the iconic "easter bonnet parade". Oscar was at preschool and we were so excited about the big day. We purchased a straw cowboy hat (very manly) and attached bunnies and eggs and straw and we were very pleased with our results.

Then we arrive at preschool and Oscar had a huge change of heart. See that pout, it never left his face. I got about 3 photos before he ripped that damn hat off, never to touch it again.

Little did I know that was going to be my one big shot at the easter bonnet parade. Oscar's primary school never held them, so this is it...

a little something for desiree and easter inspiration is in full swing...

This is my page for your CJ..."my favourite flower". It will be winging its way across the ocean this week :)

Easter is "this close" and the preperations have begun in earnest. There are so many great ideas out there in blog land,  like this - love all the crafty goodness that Mel puts on her blog  and this - Fiona has cool ideas as well and I know I will be making those cupcakes. So for now I am working on getting my little projects finished (and yes, I will take some photos!).

I also found some wonderful inspiration after spending last weekend in Sydney. There were so many cute window displays that I just had to stop and take photos (much to the embarressment of the family. Ha!)

So now I have to get back to the painting and the baking...

it was 20 years ago today...

I can barely believe that we have been married for 20 years, where has that time gone. I look at this photo and it brings back all the wonderful memories of that day...we wanted a happy wedding and that is exactly what we got (and just look at those smiling, we just got married faces )

Here's to the next 20!

another kiwiscraps album done...

I set myself the task of actually finnishing all the projects that I started at the last kiwiscraps convention and I am just about done (just stacy's album in 5 minutes - well that's how it seemed to me LOL).

This album is from Wendy's class and I sort of changed it up just a little (as you do) and now it's going to be home to pictures I take of byron cooking.

...and just for the record, the cupcakes were super yummy! 

a good cause...

If  you are doing the rounds of the scrapping blogs you will no doubt have seen the buzz about the Southern Cross Kids Camp drive to make pages for scrapbooks for the kids at the camp. Jules has been helping out with this great cause and this year she sent out the SOS for pages to complete 20 page books for all the kids at the camp (scrappers are not over-achievers. much!)

So after a quick trawl through the stash (and we all now we could put together a few albums from our stashes) the pages just whipped themselves into shape (kept them nice and simple...oh wait, that's how I do all my pages LOL) so the camp volunteers only have to add the photos and a little journaling. Easy, and if enough of us do it, well everykid will have their very own scrapbook. Good stuff.

Of course I had to do enough pages to complete the whole album because the thought of them not matching...well that just wasn't working for me!
