tagged for the first time...

It is fitting that my very first blog tag comes from miss Lee !  The task is to list my 12 favourite movies. OK, this is going to be hard, because there are so many movies out there that I love, for very different reasons. Here they are then, in no particular order (that would have been too hard!).

1. Pulp Fiction - because it was just clever & out there & graphic & violent & well, just fab.

2. Grease - because of the nostalgia (my first date was to see this movie) and the fact that I can sing & dance the entire movie, and I have watched it about, let's see, 100 times!

3. The Sound of Music - what's not to love; nuns, mountains and songs. Gary & I also went on the "sound of music tour" when we were back packers on our European odessey in the early 80's, and I acted & sang ever scene at each stop (I know this is not a visual you need right now!!!!!)

4.Goodfellas - because that movie kicked my arse and I loved it, the same feeling Pulp Fiction gave me, only years earlier.

5. Crybaby - another musical (are you seeing a pattern here people???) it has johnny Depp, it's freaky (It is a John Waters movie after all) but lots of fun.

6. The Princess Bride - just perfect, and a firm family favourite.

7. Silence of the lambs - scared me near to death, and this effect has not dimmed after repeat viewings.

8. Dirty Dancing - I had very impure thoughts about Patrick Swayze for years LOL. I won't even fess up to how many times I have watched this movie!

9. Four Weddings and a Funeral - Hugh Grant in the perfect role, I wanted his friends to be my friends.

10. Overboard - because it makes me laugh ever single time and it's a great happy family movie.

11. Dodgeball - Ben Stiller just cracks me up...real freaky dirty naughty!!

12. Notting Hill - awwwww, Hugh again. I want his friends from this movie as well. A fav chick flick indeed.

So, I don't quite know what that says about me, but there are sooooooooooooo many more (which I'm sure I will think of as soon as I hit "post" LOL) that I love and watch over and over again.

Now I have to tag (to play properly) but I won't hate you if you don't, so Libby & Mel, what are your top 12?

And to finish off, another layout from my BPS "A Year To Remember" class with Heidi Swapp. Our challenge was to decide on a goal for the year and make a layout to reflect this. I started really, really well and was reading up a storm, but the last month or so I have got back into the habit of grabbing a magazine instead!

 

the last time...

This is it, the end of the line for my time as part of Scrapbook Creations Technique Team. I can tell you that it was a fun ride, stretching me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my comfort zone at times LOL. I would sometimes worry that my style was too simple (and you just had to check out the girls I was on the team with, some really awesome work there) but I think that the concept of taking a particular theme or scrapbook supply  and then letting a bunch of very different scrappers loose is a good thing. Sure to find inspiration for all tastes. I hope!!

So here it is, my ode to my ipod. The theme was "bling" and as the mother of boys, I don't do a whole lot of bling. But my ipod deserved this love, it deserved to be surrounded by sparkely jewels and sweet words of affection from me.

Now have to get organised, and motivated, to start submitting again. Sigh.

bring on season 7...

The bad weather, the fact that soccer was cancelled, and our friends cancelling because of sickness, meant that I had watched season 6 of the West Wing by Sunday morning. OK, I had a TV tan and my eyes had gone square, but I was done. The shock...it wasn't the last season. I had it wrong, there is a season 7!!!!!!!!! I have another 22 episodes to go and I needed them baaaaad LOL. Luckily I did a little ebay-ing and that sucker is on its way. Man I love this series (and the internet).

Having 3 days off meant that I could work a little more on some projects. Each year I make an album for both boys soccer coaches, from photos I have taken during the year. Now most years I am finishing the night before presentation day (natch!) and totally wish I hadn't started. This year will be different; I have started all ready, and will just add to the albums during the year and they will be all finished in plenty of time (well that's the plan).

The first one is for Byron's coach...

It's a 7" x 5" slip in album with a dark brown linen cover. These albums are so easy to put together, and make such a great gift.

And Oscar's coaches (he has 3 young guys who are sharing the coaching this year)...

These albums are 2-up 6" x 4" albums that you slide the photos into. Again, nice and easy.

So I am feeling pretty damn smug that I have these underway! Please do not remind me of this when I fail to follow my plan and am cutting and pasting at 3.00am in early september.

1 long weekend + 22 episodes...

With all the changes made to programing with this fab show, I missed the final season (could not bare to start watching having missed the first few episodes!) My mission this long weekend is to catch up on those 22 episodes.

Sure I have Byron's soccer, and Oscar's soccer, & Gary's soccer, and friends coming over for dinner and washing and housework... BUT I will find a way to finally see the end to this awesome series. If you are looking for me, I'm sure you will find me in front of the TV!   

camp whuck-a-chuck...

So I have been missing for a few days...but it was lots of fun!

Every year for the past few years I have been traveling up to Loftus for a scrapping weekend with friends. The accommodation has always been very "spartan" to say the least (and the drive in at night is death defying), hence the unofficial name we gave the retreat (camp whuck-a-chuck). As any scrapper worth her salt knows these scrapfests are not about the accommodation, no, it's all about the talking, and laughing, and eating chocolate, and staying up late...and of course, scrapping.

This year we changed venues and although it was more upmarket (we will never quite escape the bunk beds), we still had a hoot, not a lot of sleep, lots of talking and laughing and we booked for next year before we left!

I got lots done (brag!!) and will upload as soon as I do a little scanning. I really do love these breaks away and I always come home fired up to try all the other crafts I see everyone else working on LOL (I now want to fit in making a quilt, making my own beach bag, making stuffed animals and cake decorating - will just need to quit full time work to fit it all in. Ha!).
